In the European market, road construction projects have always had stringent requirements for equipment performance and environmental standards. In October 2025, our customer selected Macroad’s ALYT80 drum-mix asphalt mixing plant, and the equipment was put into operation within just a few weeks. The performance at the project site exceeded everyone’s expectations—stable production capacity, uniform mix, and environmental performance that met European testing standards, giving the customer even greater trust in Macroad’s quality.
A Challenging Start in Sarajevo
Sarajevo’s hilly terrain and variable climate make every construction project a race against time and the terrain. For Macroad, this was not just the delivery of equipment, but a test of standards, trust, and execution.
- Geographical and Construction Environment: Located in the hilly area near Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the project faced challenges due to its undulating terrain and limited space. Equipment installation and material transportation were difficult, and any delay could disrupt the construction schedule. Therefore, the equipment had to be flexible in deployment and have stable production capacity.
- Environmental and Regulatory Requirements: The local government has extremely high standards for dust emissions, noise control, and energy efficiency. Only equipment that meets EU standards can pass testing and be put into use, posing a rigorous challenge to the equipment’s dust removal system and energy efficiency management.
- Operational and Experience Challenges: While our customer’s team is experienced in road construction, this was their first foray into asphalt production. From material ratios to automated control systems, everything required intuitive, easy-to-understand, and stable solutions.
This project was essentially a test of Macroad’s entire system capabilities—simultaneously testing equipment performance, installation efficiency, environmental compliance, and service responsiveness. ALYT80 drum mix plant achieved its first stable performance in the European market amidst these high requirements.
Delivering Excellence Under Strict Standards
Faced with Sarajevo’s complex terrain and stringent environmental requirements, Macroad‘s team opted not for standardized delivery but instead meticulously tailored the solution to the project environment. From equipment structure to control systems, every detail was designed to meet local requirements.
Bosnia and Herzegovina experiences wet and rainy autumns with high material moisture content. Macroad equipped the project with upgraded high-efficiency drying drums, enabling uniform drying in a short time and ensuring stable mixture temperature. This not only increased output but also ensured consistent asphalt quality even in harsh weather conditions.
Local environmental authorities required dust emission concentrations to be below European standards. The asphalt plant components of ALYT80’s cyclone + bag filter two-stage dust collection structure performed exceptionally well on-site, with emission levels well below the standard limits. Clean emissions were maintained even during extended continuous production.
For the Komotin doo team’s first use of an asphalt mixing plant, Macroad provided a visual operating interface with three control modes (computer, touchscreen, and manual) and conducted phased training on-site. The built-in automatic diagnostics and formula management functions of the IoT system allow customers, even those without experience, to quickly grasp the production rhythm.
Limited space at the Sarajevo project site made equipment transportation and installation one of the biggest challenges. The ALYT80’s modular structure and quick-connect fittings significantly reduced installation time, enabling commissioning and production to be completed in just a few days.
These adaptations not only met the project requirements but also allowed local customers to experience for the first time that an asphalt mixing plant could achieve a perfect balance between high standards and high efficiency. For Macroad, this is not only a success for the equipment but also a solid demonstration of the brand’s presence in the European market.
Turning a Delivery into European Confidence
After commissioning, the ALYT80’s average output stabilized at 80 tons per hour. The quality of the mixed feed passed European testing agency certification, environmental emissions met standards, and the project was completed ahead of schedule. During continuous operation, the equipment maintained low energy consumption and zero malfunctions, and the system’s intelligent control allowed the operating team to quickly familiarize themselves with the production process. This stable performance established Komotin doo’s complete trust in Macroad’s technology and services.
